SAE 1144 AISI 1144 UNS G11440 Free cutting steel
Introduction
Steels taht contain carbon as the primary alloying element are referred to as carbon steels. They also contain 0.4% of silicon and 1.2% of manganese. Residual elements such as molybdenum, chromium, nickel, copper, and aluminium are present in traces.
The following datasheet gives an overview of the chemical composition and mechanical properties of AISI 1144 carbon steel.
